The Stranger Things Universe Is (Officially) Expanding

Although the top of Stranger Things as we realize it is rapidly approaching, Stranger Things the franchise is just just heating up. Like Game of Thrones and countless mega-IP institutions before it, the scifi/horror series is capitalizing on a hungry audience and a streamer desirous to boost its numbers. Brothers Matt and Ross Duffer, whose brainchild has grow to be considered one of Netflix’s biggest hits, confirmed a by-product of the series is on its way—but you needn’t worry a couple of glut of repetitive content, the brothers swear. The spinoff will, after all, be something “very different.” Here’s what little we all know to date.

What is going to the Stranger Things spinoff be about?

Probably not Eleven or her pals! Because the Duffers told Josh Horowitz’s Completely satisfied Sad Confused podcast when Stranger Things season 4 hit Netflix, “I’ve read these rumors that there’s gonna be an Eleven spinoff, that there’s gonna be a Steve and Dustin spinoff, or that it’s one other number [from Dr. Brenner’s lab]. That’s not interesting to me because we’ve done all that. We’ve spent I don’t understand how many hours exploring all of that. So it’s very different.”

They later added, “A very powerful connective tissue I’d say is the storytelling sensibility of it. There may be story that connects to the Stranger Things world, but it surely really is more about how we’re telling that story.” To further make clear, they said the spinoff might be “1000% different” from the OG series.

That impeccably vague description doesn’t give us much to go on, but again—appears like that “connective tissue” will likely be an appearance from the Upside Down. To date, Finn Wolfhard is reportedly the one one who’s figured it out.

What is going to or not it’s called?

No clues yet. Perhaps Stranger Things: Dawn of the Demogorgon? Stranger Things 1984? Into the Stranger-Verse?

Who might be within the forged?

Don’t expect too many familiar faces, either in front of or behind the camera. The Duffers have confirmed they’ll be involved with the spinoff, but not as intimately as with the flagship show. “Hopefully we discover that right person to pass the baton to while we go on to do recent stuff,” they told Horowitz.

Actors from the unique series, including Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, David Harbour, Sadie Sink, and Winona Ryder might make cameo appearances within the spinoff, but it surely seems unlikely they’ll land lead or recurring roles. They’ve got other projects to headline!

When is the discharge date?

No release date is yet set, and considering Stranger Things season 5 continues to be an extended ways off, a by-product is probably going multiple years in the longer term. That provides us loads of time to brainstorm a catchier name than 2 Strange 2 Survive.
