Selena Gomez Responds to Body Shamers After Her Golden Globes Look Gets Criticized

On Saturday, Selena Gomez attended the 2023 Golden Globes, where she was nominated for Best Television Actress in a Musical/Comedy Series for her starring role in Hulu’s Only Murders Within the Constructing. The award went to Quinta Brunson for Abbott Elementary, but Gomez was still a winner on the red carpet, wearing a surprising Valentino gown with a plunging neckline, off the shoulder bodice, and thigh-high slit within the long skirt.

The robe was much more dramatic with the purple puff sleeves and an extended train behind her on the carpet. She paired it with tall strappy black heels and had her half swept up in an updo, and a really natural makeup palette. She accessorized with silver drop earrings.

Apparently, Gomez’s search for the night was criticized by some online trolls, and the actress caught wind of their comments. She did an Instagram Live soon after along with her 9-year-old sister, Gracie Elliott Teefey, and addressed the individuals who commented on her figure.

“I’m a bit bit big at once because I enjoyed myself throughout the holidays,” she said, before getting an affirmation from Gracie.

Then she added, “But we do not care,” and commenced laughing along with her little sis.

Gracie was also Gomez’s date for the award, and wore an lovely gold gown with matching Mary Janes and a tiny gold purse.

Her sister was born when Gomez was twenty, to her mother Mandy Teefey and stepfather Brian. The ladies are quite close and he or she said in an interview in August on TaTaTu’s video podcast, “She puts things in perspective. I even have to mainly watch this little person grow right into a human being. There isn’t any higher feeling on the earth. I form of feel like a parent in a way.”
