On Saturday, April 29, Gucci celebrated the opening of its latest Meatpacking district boutique with an event honoring the neighborhood’s history of swinging nightlife. The evening was co-hosted by Bungalow 8 founder Amy Sacco, and the decor included the club’s iconic NO VACANCY sign from the unique Bungalow 8 facade. The event was star-studded and included a DJ set from actor Idris Elba, and the cocktail menu featured the classic Cosmopolitan.
The boutique opened in early April on the corner of West 14th Street and ninth Avenue; the brand new Gucci store covers two levels, with over 9,000 square feet of retail space. There’s also an option for personal appointments, which was probably excellent news for the celebrity guest list. The night’s invitees included Alexa Chung, Beanie Feldstein, Chris Meloni, Chris Rock, Daisy Edgar-Jones, Emma Seligman, François-Henri Pinault, Salma Hayek, Sabrina Elba, Iman, Jeremy O.
