Gigi Hadid has largely kept her relationship with ex-boyfriend Zayn Malik to herself following the couple’s final breakup in October 2021. But to The Times, Hadid opened up a bit of about her life co-parenting their two-year-old daughter Khai together.
Hadid just referred to Malik as Khai’s father and spoke in a āloving toneā about him, suggesting they were at peace. When asked for advice on co-parenting arrangements, Hadid said, āJust keeping the importance of the kidās happiness on the forefront. You may have a protracted life alongside this person.ā
She added that she schedules her work commitments āwhen Khai is along with her dad. That she may be with each parents makes me very completely satisfied.ā

She also addressed Malik’s British influence on his daughter, lighting up, per the outlet, when she spoke in regards to the ālittle bitsā of Britishness in Khai. Malik was raised in Bradford, England. āSheās clearly a baby who was grown in my stomach eating plenty of British foodābreakfast, beans, curries,ā Hadid said. āAnd he or she still eats like that. She even says some words with a bit of [English] accent, which I like.ā
Overall, Hadid had nothing but glowing things to say about her little girl. āShe has already given me a lot,ā she said. āI at all times desired to be a mum, but I used to be never obsessive about it or [thought that] I used to be placed on this Earth to be a mum. Iāve at all times been quite organized, so having Khai on the time that I did was a blessing. Iām so glad to be a young mom.ā
Hadid spoke to ELLE recently more about how Khai knows the whole version of her āShe obviously sees me in every state and way, and whether she knows it or not, Iām going through and learning through life along with her,ā Hadid began. āI feel that she has a very realistic type of 24/7, around-the-clock view. Weāre up chatting in the midst of the night if sheās up; weāre talking about, I donāt know, random stuff, nevertheless itās fun. Having a daughter, even though it shifted my life to make me actually need to feel more settled, has also really made me appreciate the chaos as well. Being at shows and shoots and just being in town again; being around friends [after] becoming a mom, with everyone also coming out of COVIDāI actually have an appreciation for each side of it.ā
